She might only be 5ft tall but she is five feet of a razor sharp comedic genius! Aoife Dooley is an illustrator; author and comedian based in Dublin, that is carving out a name for herself in the illustration, typography, graphic design and sketch comedy world. Best known for her web series ‘Your One Nikita’ (formally known as Dublin Hun) that is based on life living on the north side of Dublin, people Aoife grew up with in Coolock and aspects of her north side Dublin experiences. Her illustrations and humour is undeniably tear jerkingly funny. Aoife will be one of the 4 speakers as part of OFFSHOOTS, a new series of 4 x 10min talks in the main stage.
She published her first book ‘How to be Massive’ in 2016 and her second ‘How to deal with poxes on a daily basis’ in October last year. Her illustrations bring to life everything that is quintessentially Dublin and has seen her collaborate with brands including Vodafone and Dublin Bus, along with being featured in The Irish Times, Image Magazine and The Ian Dempsey Show.
2017 also saw her take the stage and make waves in her career as a stand up comedian, winning U Magazines 30 Under 30 Award for best Comedian. Aoife shared the stage with PJ Gallagher and Eric Lalor, as a supporting act on his show ‘Dickhead’ and also preformed at the Vodafone Comedy Festival 2017 in the Iveagh Gardens in the Punch Line tent and in the Laughter Lab.
