The first Dublin Design Night with Yelp and Image Interiors took place last Wednesday, in 9 different venues around the city. Offset put the series link on for GBBO and with the promise of a different design experience in each venue we sipped, sampled and shopped our way around Temple Bar, George’s street and Drury street.
Highlights from the night include Find in Temple bar, a treasure cave of old and new. The shop is stocked with anything from a Child of Prague statue and to some pretty awesome looking cups by Minushka.
Other highlights were Industry’s new menu choice of Morrocan meatballs with some cous cous and the ‘The Industry Storm’ to wash it all down. Unfortunately I ate the meatballs before Lauren had a chance to take a photo but trust me they are good!
Offset was well represented in The Irish Design Shop and Designist with books from Chris Haughton, Chris Judge and David O’Doherty and Denise Nestor‘s commissioned piece for Offset 2013.
Designgoat launched their new chair in Indigo and Cloth. “Dyflin x Designgoat” based around the notion; “What if the Norse had never left Ireland?” The chair brings together Scandinavian and Irish traditions. And the answer I think would be … relaxing.
There was screen printing in Article from Clover Rua and a work over view from Jacob Stack in Jam factory.
Green fingers all around Dublin with work-shops in The Garden in Powerscourt and Appasionata all booked up before the second half of the night kicked off. I’ll have to leave my dreams of owning my own terrarium to another day!
Go to Yelp to see more reviews from the night, and if you were lucky enough to win some gorgeous goodies!
