OFFSET 2020 – New Dates Released

March 27, 2020

The last few weeks have been challenging for everyone, all our daily lives have changed radically and while this will be hopefully temporary it is very difficult to predict what is going to happen next. The spirit and dedication of the health service workers on the front line is inspiring and we are confident with the co-operation of us all we will get through this.

We should be 1 week away from opening our doors  but since our postponement of OFFSET 2020 due to the Corona Virus, we took time to process what had happened and what our next steps would be. We are now in a position to announce that we have secured April 23-25, 2021 as the new dates for OFFSET 2020.

Due to too many unknowns right now, we felt that rescheduling to September wouldn’t be a wise move, as we don’t know yet whether a) the ban will be lifted officially by the government and b) if people will be comfortable yet with traveling or c) attending mass gathering in the way there were before.

OFFSET is a true ‘labour of love’ that started out as a side project in 2009 to shine a light on creativity in Ireland. OFFSET was built on passion, dedication and hope at a time when the country was going into a recession. Come next April with our country likely to experience another recession of some sort, we will be ready to shine our light again. We are confident that OFFSET can act as a beacon of hope and celebration of creativity and get people back to being motivated in looking to the future.

We want to celebrate even bigger, shout even louder, and from the support we have been given by our community, our partners & speakers we feel creatives will be in a much better head space and allow themselves to do just that.

Your tickets will be transferable to the new dates. If the rescheduled dates do not suit, please contact us at tickets@iloveoffset.com and we will deal with these on a case by case basis.

At this time more than ever ,we hope that you will continue to support us and come on this journey with us next April 23-25, 2021, and let’s make it the best one yet.

Stay safe,
Love,
Lisa & Bren and all in the OFFSET Team

OFFSET Statement on COVID-19

Update March 13, 2020

It’s been a very difficult journey to get to this point, but following Government advice made yesterday by An Taoiseach, Leo Varadkar, on cancelling all mass gatherings until March 29th, we have decided due to the health & safety of our staff, speakers, partners and delegates to postpone OFFSET to a later date in the year.

While OFFSET does not fall within the current mass gathering ban period, we feel it just wouldn’t feel right to host a celebration of creativity less than a week later. We are so thankful and grateful to have the full support of all our staff, speakers & partners and we are now asking for your continued support & solidarity as OFFSET cannot exist without you.

Rescheduled dates will be announced in the coming days. If the rescheduled dates do not suit, you will be entitled to a refund. Those who booked via Phone or Internet can contact Ticketmaster for a refund by submitting a request via https://help.ticketmaster.ie/. If you purchased via Box Office refunds will be available from point of sale. We would ask that you refrain from seeking these in person refunds until after March 29th.

The extra wait for OFFSET 2020 will make it even more a reason to celebrate and we would love if you would continue to be part of that family.
Stay safe.
Love,
OFFSET Team

Update March 12, 2020

Following Government advice regarding mass gatherings up until March 29th made today by An Taoiseach, Leo Varadkar, we are currently in the process of reviewing all our options, with public safety being our top priority. We kindly ask that you be patient while we consult with the relevant stakeholders. We hope to be in position to make a statement over the coming days. Stay safe everyone.

Update March 11, 2020

In view of the current developments around the spreading Coronavirus outbreak, we would like to assure you that we are monitoring the developments, closely following guidelines from the Irish Government, the Irish Heath Service (HSE) and the World Health Organisation.

We would also like to assure you that the safety and wellbeing of our staff, speakers and attendees is our main priority.
Currently the status is Ireland is that the risk to individuals has not changed and the risk assessment still remains low.
https://www2.hse.ie

A variety of mass gathering in venues with an equal capacity to ours and higher are still scheduled to go ahead.
Safety & containment, is the current strategy in place. The government has urged people to remain calm; all mass gathering could be banned at a future day if the status level changes dramatically over a quick period of time.

We will continuously pay attention to the situation, and intend to reassess weekly, but as of today, with 3 weeks to go before we launch OFFSET 2020, we are proceeding as normal until we are advised otherwise.

We hope we will be welcoming you all in April 3rd

The OFFSET team.
