Typeface & Lettering Design Crit
Max Phillips of Signal Type Foundry and Design Enterprise Skillnet will host two type design crits: a one-day intensive workshop on Thursday 4 April during OFFSITE and a drop-in crit taking place on the Yellow Stage at OFFSET, on Friday at 6pm.
Bring your typeface and lettering designs in progress. We’ll help you to develop and refine them. Works in all stages welcome, from idea sketches to kerning proofs, as are all levels of experience. We’ll identify strong and weak points, help you to clarify your thinking, assess and give tips for improving technical quality, and develop task lists for bringing your work to the next level. Please print designs out on A4 or A3 sheets. If possible, typeface designs should show words, sentences, and paragraphs, as well as showings of alphabets and numerals, but we’ll be happy to discuss whatever you’ve got.
